From one of the leading institutions of Ayurveda, the Venkataramana Ayurvedic Institute, affiliated to Dr.M.G.R.Medical university, Tamilnadu, India, M.D ,PhD F.I.C.A, F.W.A.I.M(U.S.A).Dr.S.D.Premvel has turned out to be an outstanding practitioner Of the reputed Dhanvanthri Nilayam Ayurveda Vaidyasalai base, in Madurai, Established in 1945. He has held various Administrative and Academic posts in Ayurvedic field. He is a member of Ayurvedic Council, Board of Studies and various committees at Dhanvanthri Institute.

He has been serving and propagating the purpose and divinity of Ayurveda through many works like serving as the director of the JATA's AYURVEDIC HERBAL ORGANISATION Chennai, State vice-president and president (2004-06) of ALL INDIA AYURVEDA CONGRESS IN Madurai and Chennai respectively.he is the Editor of the AROKYAKALPAM,of AIAC from 2008.

He is actively involved in many other activities other than his stream to the welfare of the humanity to fulfill the main PURUSHARTHA, THE DHARMA through various various organizations like the LION's club where he is the president.
